Starting a business is hard work. Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that one-fifth of small businesses fail within their first year, and just half of them make it to the fifth year. In California, the state’s 1,100-page labor code dictates all manner of workplace requirements and makes it difficult for any employer to comply. Small businesses, non-profits, religious institutions, charitable organizations, and other foundations are the most vulnerable.
CABIA Foundation exists to educate disadvantaged business owners. The CABIA Foundation seeks to guarantee that no small businesses are in the dark on their legal obligations simply because they can’t afford the cost of compliance. The Foundation will conduct free seminars to educate businesses on avoiding wage and hour lawsuits, and produce no-cost educational guidebooks on common errors that can trip up anyone who has an employee.
CABIA Foundation is a §501(c)(3) organization, gifts to which are deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax purposes.
